NOTICES

Notice is hereby given of a public hearing to be held on the 13th day of May 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the Pickens Room located at the Pickens County Administration Building, 1266 East Church Street, Jasper, Georgia, before the Planning Commission of Pickens County, Georgia.

The purpose of the hearing is to discuss:

1. A rezone request from Richard Coury on behalf of Holly's Family Trust to rezone a 2-acre portion of parcel #045 023 001 located at 5545 Cove Road from Agriculture (AG) to Rural Residential (RR). The purpose of this request is to build a residential structure.

2. A rezone request from Lamar Argroves to rezone a 4.171-acre portion of parcel #040 068 located on Wren Road from Agriculture (AG) to Rural Residential (RR). The purpose of this request is to sell the acreage to a family member for a future homesite.

3. A Conditional Use Permit request from Johnny Condrey on behalf of Global Year, Inc. for a Missionary Training Center with small cabins. The 14.67-acre tract is located at 11178 Henderson Mountain Road, parcel #058 028 002.

4. A rezone request from Mark Farmer on 20.39-acres, parcel #040 041 located at 1036 Firetower Road, Jasper, GA from Rural Residential (RR) to Agriculture (AG). The purpose of this request is to plant ornamental trees for sale.

5. A rezone request from Jerry Fender on behalf of JTF Holdings to rezone 45-acres, parcel #064 066 located at 2811 Waleska Highway 108 from Agriculture (AG) to Highway Business (HB). The purpose of this request is to sell the property for development of a commercial business park.

6. A rezone request from 1893, LLC to rezone 7.41-acres, parcel #033 148 006, located 215 Crossbow Lane, from Highway Business (HB) to Industrial (I). The purpose of this request is to correct zoning for existing manufacturing business.

The recommendation of the Planning Commission will be brought before the Board of Commissioners on June 17th, 2024, at 5:30 p.m.
