Rep. Tom Graves Votes to Help Veterans Start Small Businesses
(Washington, D.C.) – Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) issued the following statement today after voting in favor of the Veterans Entrepreneurship Act (H.R. 2499), legislation that waives the upfront guarantee fee for veterans on Small Business Administration 7 (a) Express Loans:
"When the brave men and women of our military leave the Armed Forces, we should help make their transition to civilian life as smooth as possible. By waiving the upfront guarantee fee for certain loans, this bill makes it easier for veterans to access the private capital they need to start a business. Tearing down this barrier not only allows veterans to transition more easily to civilian life, but it also creates jobs and spurs economic growth in communities across Georgia."
H.R. 2499 passed the House of Representatives by a bipartisan vote of 410 to 1.
