Superintendent Carlton Wilson hosted a Superintendentís Chat on October 2nd, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The chat was originally scheduled for September 11, but canceled due to inclement weather. Superintendent Wilson answered questions concerning education and our school system.

Topics discussed:
- Future of Jasper Middle School
- Offices moved
- Old JES Gym to be used as central receiving warehouse
- Personnel moves and training in leadership positions
- Improve efficiency in scheduling
- Expand career pathways at PHS (schools within schools)
- Looking at School Calendar - in particular Murray County with shorter school year
- Make up days for recent closings due to weather and power outages (At the moment the 6 days will not need to be made up.)
- Hometown Heroes celebrated at the October 13th PHS home game
- Advisory Councils started (students, parents, & businesses)
- School system is 100% debt free
- Plans to host a Senior tax exemption Town Hall Meeting
- Art and PE added back into the schools
- Possible joint partnerships with Drivers Education
- Staff morale
- Big win against Gilmer (Score 62-0)
- Plans to talk to Superintendent in Fannin about playing them again in football
- Upgrade communications system (radios and cameras)
- Looking to add a guard at PHS
- Plans to have more Superintendent Chats in morning and evening
- Welcoming suggestions and door always open for discussion
- JMS traffic change
- Would like to reverse Stegall to ease JES traffic
