Jasper Lions Club Fill-A-Stocking Provided Christmas Gifts For Over 700 Children
1/9/2018 ~ by Margo Austin
The Jasper Lions Club had a very successful Fill A Stocking project during the Christmas Season. We served over 700 children by providing Christmas gifts and creating smiles all across our county. Our Club wishes to thank the community for all the help they provided by donating toys.
Custom Riders Motorcycles Club, Hartman T/F Cycles and Steelhorse Law brought a record number of toys on over 1600 motorcycles in our Annual Toy Run. Pickens County Middle School (Elisha Roper, Coordinator) and Pickens High School (Judith Barber, Coordinator), Jasper Middle School, (Jana Champion, Coordinator) collected toys and presented them to us through their White Christmas Programs.
Piedmont Mountainside Hospital, banks and businesses around town also collected toys for us. The Board of Education provided help in transporting toys. Mr. Tom Holland donated two 26” bicycles. Others provided space to do our distribution, sponsoring families, and numerous other ways.
The Jasper Lions Club wishes to thank ALL of you who sponsored and participated in the Annual 4th of July Celebration which provides the "Lions' share of the funds for the Fill A Stocking project. 700 + Pickens County children were given gifts they would not have had! THANK YOU!
