Looking for a great day of fun in the sun that will be sure to be a memory of a lifetime while helping a veteran in need? Check out the Ride For Warren that will be held at the Calhoun 5313 Off-Road Park on Saturday May 19, open 9:a.m. till dark.

The fund raiser is to help in raising funds for a handicap van for local veteran Warren Boyette who suffered a stroke 10 years ago. The Veterans Ride Crawl For A Cause group was formed last year and raised $2400 for a veteran in need of open heart surgery.

Come help Warren get his ride while you have a great ride full of trails, mud, hill climbs, rocks and obstacles on the 112 acre off road park located on HWY 53 in Calhoun. Registration begins at 9:00. All proceeds go toward the cause with entry cost $15 per person, children under 12 free. Ride is open to all 4 wheel drive vehicles, ATVs and side by sides. You choose your course… easy or extreme… with or without the mud!

Plan on making a day of it… There will be lots of great prizes being raffled and even bigger ones to be auctioned at the highest bid… Concessions on site but feel free to bring your own cooler (no glass please). Raffle tickets will be sold at $5 for 3 tickets. You must be present to win these great give aways that have been donated including Atlanta Aquarium tickets, great off road gear, gift cards for food, exercise and spa, and lots more! Auction items include a beautiful hand made quilt, custom made corn hole boards and a lighted jeep grill. These great items will be called to the winning number throughout the day to keep the excitement going. That evening, fun gets even better with the performance Nashville country music star Joe Webb once the riders complete the course.

Event coordinator Amy Sassman is very excited about the enthusiasm and support from folks to make this off road ride fundraiser a success. “We know we already have over 300 folks wanting to ride… There’s plenty of room for more to join in. It’s a great location for 4-wheeling. Come early and bring a chair!”
