With the perfect cloud cover and breeze, it was perfect weather for the Jasper Farmers Market Saturday. When you see Chris Wilson of 5 Sons Farms pull in, you know blueberry season has arrived. And there was an abundance of locally grown produce available from many different vendors – Kenneth Kirk, Johnson Farms, Pinhook Creek Farms, Hill Valley Farms, J&J Farms, Kenneth & Cody Childers, Joe & Mary Pickering, and Zach Henson.

Zach had the first beans of the season and Johnson Farms had the potatoes to go with them. Lots of squash, zucchini, cucumbers, beets and more. And of course you gotta have the meat to go along with all that, and we got that covered too, available from Sunny Side Farms and Hill Valley Farms. All delicious, fresh & healthy.

New to the market this week was Harold Wilson of Imagine this Photography. Harold takes the pictures and produces his work on a variety of different sizes of canvas. Many of his works are local landmarks. I passed his test of where’s this, a picture of the Kirby-Quinton cabin.

The 4th of July rides will be setting up on Wednesday, June 27th. Therefore, we will be located at the back gate inside Lee Newton Park, right off Burton Street. Wednesday hours are 3-6:30.

On Saturday, June 30th, we will relocate to the pavilion at Roper Park with regular Saturday hours of 7:30-12.

There will be NO market on Wednesday, July 4th.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.
