The Aces Youth Home (ACES), will hold its first annual Holiday Tour of Homes in Jasper is TODAY. Presented by Piedmont Mountainside, this year’s walking tour will take place on Sunday, December 2nd from 2:00 until 7:00 pm and will feature five decorated homes on South Main Street in Jasper.
Get your tickets today ($30) at the highly anticipated new Atlantic Coast Conservancy building located at 80 South Main Street. The new building consists of 5,170 square feet on .40 acre and is one of the five on the tour.
According to Robert Keller (CEO), the building is the first building in Jasper to have fiber optic cable for high speed internet access. For lighting, the building relies heavily upon energy efficient ambient lighting on the main floor and lofts.
The building has reused flooring from the previous building in the kitchen and landing. Interior hand rails were made from a walnut tree harvested on the premises. The chandelier was made from a hand hewn beam that was used as a support beam for the foundation of the previous building. The outdoor copper gas lights were created in New Orleans by historic coppersmith Bevolo Gas Lights (since 1945).
Other homes on the tour include the home of Tim and Mary Ghorley, Luke and Katie Copeland, Sonny and Karen Proctor, and Becky Denney/David Keller.
Free shuttle service will be available from First Baptist Church of Jasper, Jasper United Methodist Church, behind Mountain Education Center (former Jasper Middle School) and behind Revive us Again. Parking in public lots downtown will also be available. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase in the green space.
