Signed Development Agreement between Southern Comfort Ventures II, LLC, Developer of the Whispering Creek Subdivision, and Pickens County, Georgia.
Adopted Resolution Appointing Jeff Henke to the Pickens County Water
and Sewer Authority to complete the unexpired term of Shane Harwood which ends December 31, 2007.
Signed Memorandum of Understanding between the Pickens County Board of Health and Pickens County Government effective from June 26, 2007 through June 30, 2008.
Adopted Resolution changing the Employee Policy Handbook by adding
a section entitled Vehicle Assignment & Use Policy which addresses
County vehicle take home policy and personal vehicle mileage
reimbursement.
Adopted Resolution approving the five (5) year Transit Development
Plan for Pickens County prepared by the North Georgia Regional
Development Center with input from the Pickens County Transit
Advisory Committee, the North Georgia Community Action Agency, the
Georgia Department of Human Resources Transportation Coordinator,
and the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Opened bids for re-surfacing Steve Tate Highway. Four bids were
received: 1) Northwest Georgia Paving - $599,635.55; 2) Blount
Construction - $547,264.00; 3) Colditz Paving - $560,409.39; 4) C. W.
Matthews Contracting Co. - $560,819.00. The bids are being reviewed.
Signed Memorandum of Agreement by and between the Pickens County
Sole Commissioner Robert Jones and the Board of Regents of the
University System of Georgia for the Governmental Services Division of
The Carl Vinson Institute of Government to study the operations and
organization of the Pickens County Planning Department. Emphasis
will be placed on the staffing levels and the work processes used to
implement the Pickens County zoning code and development regulations.
the review will collect data to establish a factual basis and benchmarks
for an appropriate developmental review process for Pickens County.
