Video Recap: Commissioner Rob Jones recognized Jamie Waterman, an accomplished Senior at Pickens High School, who has been selected for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. There have been only five graduates of Pickens High School to attend a U.S. military academy.

There was an amendment to the agenda which was a resolution to adopt roads in Henderson Woods subdivision.

During the guest comments, Kirk Kondos gave an update that training for the 27 volunteers to operate the Veterans office will be on February 28 at 10 a.m. at the Pickens County Administration building. Anyone interested in volunteering should attend.

There was also discussion on the new Voter Registration office on the cost to renovate the building and utility bills. The renovation cost was $4,200 and the utilities are covered in the budget. There was also concern about the security of the voting machines in that location. The commissioner reassured the public that they're meeting all the Secretary of State requirements and read their email correspondence.

Norman Pope invited everyone to attend the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the Community Center at Roper Park on Tuesday, March 8 at 1 p.m.

   1. Granted permit for Telecommunication Tower & associated structures - State Route 53 East (Parcel ID: 052D:1671), Pickens County, Georgia, application from Diamond Communications, LLC. The permit was granted due to compliance with current county regulations and recommendation of the Pickens County Planning Commission to grant the permit and there were no public objections.
