Commissioner Jones denied a request for change in land use classification
from RR (Rural Residential) to I (Industrial) on a 6.25 acre parcel - Parcel
032-065 located off Lower Dowda Mill Road. Rezoning request from Miller
Davis.
Adopted Resolution re-appointing Jim Fowler and Gerald Hughes to the
Pickens County Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals. Terms
beginning January 1, 2008 and ending December 31, 2008.
igned Proclamation proclaiming February 2008 as American Heart Month-
in recognition of the importance of the ongoing fight against heart disease
and stroke.
Opened bids for striping project on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 10:00
a.m. One bid was received from Parker Traffic Markings in the amount of
$94,913.85 and is being reviewed. The striping project includes Hill City
Road, Lumber Company Road, Monument Road and Jerusalem Church
Road.
Adopted Resolution Amending the Pickens County Land Use District
Ordinance Map in regard to Parcel 063-098 composed of 1 acre located on
Waleska Highway 108 changing land use classification from Rural
Residential (RR) to Highway Business (HB) with attached conditions. (1) All
necessary permits from Georgia D.O.T. must be obtained prior to any
construction work. (2) All buffers and landscape strips must be hi place prior
to release of certificate of occupancy. Rezoning request from Brandon
Roland. Amendment #40.
Adopted Resolution Amending the Pickens County Land Use District
Ordinance Map hi regard to Parcel 030C-065 for .57 acre located on Philadelphia Road changing land use classification from Rural Residential (RR) to Highway Business (HB) with the following conditions: (1) Proper access permit must be obtained from Pickens County. (2) Type II buffers must be installed to all adjoining properties. Rezoning request from Keith & Rita Sturges. Amendment #41.

Ordinance Map in regard to Parcel 033-009-002 composed of 49.37 acres
located on Highway 136 Connector changing land use classification from
Agricultural (AG) to Highway Business (HB) with the following conditions:
(1) All county development regulations would have to be met including
campground regulations. (2) All necessary permits from Georgia D.O.T.
must be obtained prior to any construction work. Rezoning request from DJR,
LLC (Joel Neighbors). Amendment #42.
