Three Wheels Around the World Part 2
|Location:||Pickens County Public Library|
|Start Time:||6:30 PM|
|Description:||Even if you did not have an opportunity to hear the first part of Robert Hirsch's amazing story of his six-year cycling journey around the globe, it's not too late to pick up with him in Africa.|
Mr Hirsch is a graduate of Furman University with a BA in biochemistry who earned his Master’s from University of Utah. A three-time Appalachian Trail thru-hiker who has also thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail, Hirsch has volunteered both in the U.S. and abroad, volunteering for the Pisgah and Wasatch National Forests, serving in the Peace Corps, organic farming in Japan, and teaching in India. He has also cycled around North America. Currently, he serves as the caretaker of MCT’s Forry Farm Preserve in Talking Rock, Georgia.
“The first presentation was filled with entertaining stories, amazing photos and reminders of the need to preserve significant cultural and ecological resources,” said George Kimberly, MCT’s Executive Director. "Part two of the presentation will pick up with Hirsch's adventure in Africa, and through Europe and Asia."
