UPDATE: The Memorial Day ceremony at Pickens County Veterans Memorial Park is cancelled. This is due to ground water on location, lightning potential and numerous road closures around the county. Thank you to all the veterans that worked to prepare for the event and place tribute markers for our local fallen.


Memorial Day is not a celebration but a remembrance of those who are no longer with us. Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.

Memorial Day Service, hosted by Marine Corps League #1280, on Monday, May 27th at 10 am at Pickens County Veterans Memorial Park (Lee Newton Park) in Jasper, GA. (Please note a new location from previous years.)

The guest Speaker will be Lt. Colonel, Leon Millholland, Retired (USMC Reserves) and member of Marine Corps League #1280.
