Residents of Jasper, Nelson, and Talking Rock, Georgia, will soon have the opportunity to elect local leaders in the upcoming 2025 General Municipal Elections.
The Pickens County Board of Elections & Registration has announced qualifying details for several key offices, each serving a four-year term beginning January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2029.
CITY OF JASPER
Qualifying Fee: $90
Post 1 - City Councilmember
Incumbent: Dr. Folsom "Sonny" Proctor
Post 2 - City Councilmember
Incumbent: Anne Sneve
CITY OF NELSON
Qualifying Fee: $25
Mayor
Incumbent: Sylvia Green
City Councilmember - Seat 1
Incumbent: William Taylor
City Councilmember - Seat 2
Incumbent: James Queen
TOWN OF TALKING ROCK
Qualifying Fee: $2
Post 1 - Town Councilmember
Incumbent: Caleb Gay
Post 2 - Town Councilmember
Incumbent: Anthony Hawf
Post 4 - Town Councilmember
Incumbent: Darlene O'Connell
All positions will be elected at-large, meaning voters across each municipality may cast ballots for any candidate regardless of district. The election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, 2025, with polls open from 7 am to 7 pm.
