Notice is hereby given of a public hearing to be held on the 14th of September 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the Pickens Room located at the Pickens County Administration Building, 1266 East Church Street, Jasper, Georgia, before the Planning Commission of Pickens County, Georgia. The purpose of the hearing is to discuss a request from:
1. Pam Hodgson, to rezone 4-acres of a 63.93-acre tract known as parcel 054 096 001, located at 1402 Henderson Mountain Rd, Jasper, GA 30143 from Agricultural (AG) to Rural Residential (RR). The purpose of this request is to create two lots.
2. Big South Real Estate Holdings, LLC, to rezone a 3.29-acre tract known as parcel 053A 086, located at 734 Harmony School Rd, Jasper, GA 30143 from Rural Residential (RR) to Highway Business (HB). The purpose of this request is to create three commercial buildings and to turn an existing residence into office space.
3. Haley Bouchie, to rezone a 1-acre tract known as parcel 065 069, located at 874 Fairview Rd, Jasper, GA 30143 from Rural Residential (RR) to Rural Business (RB). The purpose of this request is to create an artisan stand.
4. Zachary Petty, to rezone a 5.02-acre tract known as parcel 068 082 005, located at Four Mile Church Rd, Jasper, GA 30143 from Agricultural (AG) to Rural Residential (RR)). The purpose of this request is to create a buildable lot
The recommendation of the Planning Commission will be brought before the Board of Commissioners on October 19, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.
