Get ready for over a week of patriotic fun as Jasper celebrates Independence Day!

Festivities kick off early on June 28th with community picnics, concerts, and free family events downtown, leading right up to the Jasper Lions Club's Annual Independence Day Celebration.

A full carnival with rides, games, and vendors will take over Lee Newton Park from Wednesday, July 2nd through Sunday, July 5th. The week culminates on July 4th with the grand "America 250" parade down Main Street, afternoon bingo, and a spectacular evening fireworks display. Whether you're looking for family-friendly activities, live music, or classic fair food, this year's community-wide celebration has something for everyone!

FULL INDEPENDENCE WEEK EVENT SCHEDULE

SUNDAY, JUNE 28
4 PM: Community-wide Picnic at Perrow Park
Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a cookout!

6 PM: Free "God & Country" Concert inside the First Baptist Church of Jasper (198 E Church St), featuring the Roman Festival Brass Band playing hymns, movie themes, and patriotic favorites.


MONDAY, JUNE 29

6 PM: Free Family Movie Night featuring the movie "1776" in Perrow Park.
Bring your lawn chair, blanket, and a picnic.


TUESDAY, JUNE 30

6-8 PM: Free Kids Event at the Kirby-Quinton Cabin (Next to the Old Jail)!
Open to all, featuring STEAM activities provided by 21st Century Leaders, storytelling, face painting, Kona Ice, and more.


WEDNESDAY, JULY 1

5 PM: America 250 Time Capsule Ceremony at Perrow Park
Come join the fun and be a part of history for the burial of an America 250 Time Capsule!

6 PM: Round 1 of "Jasper's Got Talent" at Lee Newton Park Stage
Each act will perform for a panel of judges that will determine who moves on to Round 2

THURSDAY, JULY 2

5 PM: Rides and vendors open at Lee Newton Park*

6 PM: Round 2 of "Jasper's Got Talent" at Lee Newton Park Stage
People's Choice - Come out and support your favorite acts!!!
YOU will determine who wins, and the performers will be seeking your votes - you will vote by putting money in the jar of your choice to win "Jasper's Got Talent!".

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be named, and they will perform before the fireworks on Saturday, July 4th (see schedule below).


FRIDAY, JULY 3

5 PM: Rides and vendors open at Lee Newton Park*


SATURDAY, JULY 4

8 AM: Parade check-in and line-up begins on Mark Whitfield Street (behind Tequila Bar & Grill).

10 AM: Parade down Main Street, emceed by 101.1 The Pulse.

Want to enter? Cash prizes awarded ($50 for 1st Place, $25 for 2nd Place). Entry fee is $15 on or before June 25, and $25 after June 25 (fee includes units of up to 4 vehicles, $5 per additional vehicle). [Parade Application PDF]

1-5 PM: BINGO at the Pickens County Chamber of Commerce Pavilion

3 PM: Rides and vendors open at Lee Newton Park*

7-10 PM: LIVE MUSIC
Come enjoy an evening of great music, featuring National Frequency Band & Friends - they play rock, blues, and your favorite classic hits!

7:50-8 PM 3rd place JGT winner
8:50-9 PM 2nd place JGT winner
9:50-10 PM 1st place JGT winner

10:05 PM: Fireworks Display
Fireworks are shot from the field across from Lee Newton Park and will be viewable throughout downtown Jasper.

Thursday & Friday: Opens at 5 PM
Saturday: Opens at 3 PM
Sunday: Opens at 5 PM

RIDE PRICING
Unlimited ride armbands are $30 per person (July 2-3 and July 5)
On July 4, armbands are $35 per person
Single ride tickets are $1.25 each or 25 tickets for $25
Each ride requires 2 to 4 tickets

PAYMENT METHODS
Cash, credit cards, debit cards, Venmo, Apple Pay, and other common payment options are accepted

* CARNIVAL NOTE: Opening and closing times for the rides are subject to change depending on the weather. Please check at the entrance to the rides for the latest daily times.

VENDOR INFORMATION
Set up your booth at Lee Newton Park! The $150 fee covers a 20'x20' space for the entire carnival run (July 1-6). [Vendor Application PDF]
