Fall Coin Show on August 29th
Coin dealer Bobby Groves of Cohutta, Georgia shared his coin offerings last spring.

[ August 21, 2026 ] The Pickens County Coin Club invites the public to its 2026 Fall Coin Show on Saturday, August 29, from 9 am to 4 pm at the Amicolola Electric Membership Corporation Dean Center, 544 State Highway 515 South in Jasper (across from QT, at GA 515 and Camp Road). Admission and parking are free, security is provided, and the show is open to all ages.

With a coin boom afoot, it is an ideal time to come out and learn about the value in coin collecting. The U.S. Mint is continuing its Semiquincentennial program marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with a wave of one-year-only, dual-dated "1776-2026" coins throughout the year includes:

• Five new commemorative quarter designs honoring the Mayflower Compact, the Revolutionary War, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Gettysburg Address.
• A dime with the first major redesign since the Roosevelt dime debuted in the 1940s.
• Special anniversary versions of the half dollar, penny, and American Eagle bullion coins are rolling out as well.
The mix of new circulating designs and limited collector issues has drawn fresh attention from both longtime collectors and newcomers curious about what's showing up in their pocket change.

"The combination of current coins being retired while redesigned versions are being issued and solid gold and silver prices is drawing fresh attention to coin collecting," said Chris Paire, coin club president.

Gold and silver have been trading at near-record territory in recent sessions, with gold around the low $4,000s per ounce and silver around the low $60s per ounce - levels that have many people reassessing old collections, inherited coin jars, and bullion holdings.

Dealers at the Pickens County show will be on hand to buy, sell, and appraise U.S. and world coins and currency, along with gold and silver in any form, giving attendees a chance to get a same-day read on what their holdings are worth in today's market.

Security will be on-site throughout the show, and attendees carrying valuable coins, currency, or bullion can request an escort to and from their vehicle.
