[ May 27, 2026 ] Children in Pickens County can receive free meals this summer through the Georgia Department of Education School Nutrition program, "Fueling Georgia's Future."
The program runs from June 1 through July 16, 2026, at Pickens High School, 500 Dragon Drive in Jasper. Meals will be available Monday through Thursday from 11 to 11:30 am.
Pickup is located inside the school in the hallway between the cafeteria and weight training room. Families should enter through the outdoor courtyard entrance on the side facing the tennis courts and baseball field.
Meals are available at no cost to children 18 and under, with a limit of one lunch per child per day. A parent or guardian must pick up the meal.
The site will be closed the week of June 29 through July 3.
