[ November 17, 2025 ] Are we there yet? It's that time of year, when we start asking about how time works because we can't believe it's really halfway through Autumn, the season of leaves! Happily the leaves are still hanging on, laying about, and flying or floating through the air.
We should be floating as well, but with all the excitement building for the holidays it's a wonder we are even on the ground getting those decorations going. Many of which are from the Farmers Market. The crafters have really poured on the orange, glitter, and golds this year. Red and green are on the tables now, along with all the colors of squash, veggies, fruits, and other staples like eggs. You can even get duck eggs to make the cake batter extra rich!
While you visit the Farmers Market keep at look out (or should that be look at?) the woodwork items like Cabin Crafts by Jerry Robey. Iron Rabbit Forge by Joe Catron is a blacksmith and a bladesmith. Not many smithys like him around! And watch for unique metal crosses from Dale Ryder. He has friends for support in the tent and giant snowmen guarding the tent that you can't miss seeing.
For those new to town or visiting the area the Jasper Farmers Market is located in the Park N Ride parking lot across from the Veterans Memorial Park. The cooler days make for shorter market hours. Opening at 9am for those early risers and closing at noon for the slower paced people.
The Jasper Farmers Market is sponsored by the Pickens County Master Gardeners Extension Volunteers, MGs for short. Produce, breads, desserts, decor, jewelry, crochet critters and knitwear are available. Unique and unusual items as well. Coffee vendors, pet products, and dragons? Yes! Get your dragons at the Jasper Farmers Market.
As the seasons change so does the market items. Yet, we still have Vintage, Classic, and New vendors like Joanne Tanner of Wayward Roots that keeps the atmosphere cozy, current, and a bit crazy.
