[ August 09, 2025 ] Pickens County residents should be aware of two important updates affecting access to local services next week.

Starting August 12, 2025, the parking lot at the Pickens County Administrative Building will undergo phased paving. The building will remain open, but parking access will be limited:

PAVING SCHEDULE:
August 12-13 (Tues-Wed):
Right entrance and middle section closed

August 14-15 (Thurs-Fri):
Left entrance and top/bottom sections closed

Visitors are encouraged to use caution and plan ahead when accessing the building during these dates.

DFCS OFFICE CLOSURE AUGUST 12-13

Due to paving, the Pickens County Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS) office will be closed and inaccessible on August 12-13. Staff will work remotely during this time.

Residents needing in-person DFCS services may visit nearby offices in Cherokee, Gilmer, or Gordon counties. Remote services are also available via Georgia Gateway or by calling 877-423-4746. To report child abuse or neglect, call 1-855-GA-CHILD.
