Pickens County to Celebrate Brand New VFW Post

[ December 06, 2024 ] Combat veterans in Pickens County will have their very own Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post, serving the county and surrounding communities.

Veterans and their family members, VFW and Auxiliary leadership, along with local and regional leaders, community partners, and patriotic citizens are invited to attend the institution and celebration of a new VFW Post in Jasper, Georgia, on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 2pm.

This will be the first new VFW Post established in Georgia since the pandemic. VFW Post 12239 will be named after local hero, SGT David S Collins. In 2006, SGT Collins was deployed to Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division when he gave his life for our nation.

VFW National Commander-in-Chief, Al Lipphardt, has authorized this new VFW Post and will administer its institution and install its Post officers.
