[ March 24, 2023 ] Robert Harling's classic play about strong Southern women is filled with laughs. For many audience members, it's filled with a few tears. You might tuck a few tissues in your pocket or purse. Tater Patch Players is very proud of the dynamic cast for this production.

Jan Simpson has directed with humor and courage, through many hours of rehearsal and many hours spent in deep thought. This is not an easy play to direct. It requires a certain finesse to keep it from becoming a farce and even more to keep it from becoming a tragedy. Jan and her cast have walked that fine line and are very proud to welcome you to this play.

The show's dates are March 24, 25, 26, and 31 and April 1, 2, 7 and 8. The Sunday shows are at 2 PM. Please note, there are only two Sunday shows in this run, as we will not perform on Easter Sunday. The other shows are at 7:30 PM.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, and $16 for students. They may be bought online at www.taterpatchplayers.org anytime, or at the box office beginning one hour before each performance.

The theater is at 95 Philadelphia Lane, in Jasper.

For those who cannot afford tickets at this time, we offer a chance to see the final dress rehearsal on Thursday, March 23, at 7:30 PM. In lieu of buying a ticket, we ask that those attending bring a bag or two of non-perishable food items or toiletries, which we will share with the CARES Food Pantry. In turn, the cast will share their dress rehearsal and all the joys and tears that are part of attending this play.

If anyone has questions, please call 706-253-2800 or email taterpatchplayers@gmail.com and one of our volunteers will get in touch.

The cast is Phyllis Zerkle, as Annelle, Debra Grecol as Truvy, September Hoeler as Clariee, Haley Patterson as Shelby, Lynn Sandlin as M’Lynn, and Ellen Painter as Ouiser. They are all excited, in this final week before the show as they put the finishing touches on their lines and their costumes.

Please come be transported to Chinquapin Parish, Louisiana, and come right in to Truvy’s Beauty Shop. Sit down and let us entertain you!
