[ May 25, 2023 ] The Pickens County Board of Education has named Matt Combs as Principal of Pickens High School beginning July 1, 2023.

Mr. Combs comes to Pickens County after a long career as an educator in Douglas County. In his 21 years in education, he has served as a Math teacher, assistant administrator, and assistant principal. He has served on the district's curriculum team. He has also worked closely with master scheduling and been a testing coordinator. He served as a Head Football Coach at Alexander High School for 11 years.

Mr. Combs and his family are excited to join the Pickens County community. He states, "a positive ethos is the backbone of a successful school and community. I am excited to work with the faculty, students, and community to provide the students of Pickens High School with the tools and memories that will last a lifetime."
