HIGHLIGHT - SUMMER DISCOVERY
Come together this summer at your dynamic destination for discovery - the Sequoyah Regional Library System! Explore your local library in June and July to participate in awesome programs at no cost featuring Jeffini the Great, live animals, community helper days, community-inspired education programs for all ages (kids, teens, and adults), and much more! Events are listed below - you won't want to miss a thing!

DISCOVER YOUR FAMILY HISTORY WITH HERITAGEQUEST
HeritageQuest Online offers a collection of genealogical and historical sources - with coverage dating back to the 1700s -that can help you find your ancestors and discover a place's past. It offers primary sources, local and family histories, and finding aids. Visit our website, SequoyahRegionalLibrary.org, to access HeritageQuest today!

HeritageQuest Online will need a Galileo Password. Contact your local library branch to get your Galileo Password.

FRIENDS OF PICKENS COUNTY LIBRARY
The Friends of the Pickens County Library have gently used books available for purchase any time the library is open! The board members of Friends of the Pickens Library stock the shelves and collect the case and check from the black box near the book display. You can also pay using your credit card and the QR code. The Friends of the Pickens County Library bookshelf is located inside the Pickens County Library.

Teen Recycled Creations
June 1, 5:00 PM

This program is designed to help teens make beautiful, one-of-a-kind bracelets out of recycled water bottles. Teens will learn how to use their creativity while also helping the environment by reducing the number of plastic water bottles in landfills. The best part? The end product is something you can wear in public and show off to your friends! No registration required.


Poster Board Poetry
June 6, 4:30 PM

Bring your favorite poem, or come create your own! We will be turning our poems into a work of art. Learn about the connection of colors and emotions! All ages welcome, but best for ages 10 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.


Family Storytime
June 7, 14, & 21, 10:30 AM

Join us at the Pickens County Library on June 7th for Family Storytime with Miss Hannah! We will have a theme with stories, songs, and a craft! Be sure to join us for a fun morning. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.


Summer Discovery Kick-off with Jeffini the Great!
June 8, 4:00 PM

Join us as we kickoff Summer Discovery 2023: All Together Now with a magic show by the Jeffini the Great! All ages welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.


Paper Crane Origami
June 13, 10:30 AM

Join other members of the community at the Pickens County Library to create a Community Art Project using origami paper cranes. Learn how to make paper cranes, and use your creations to create a work of art! All supplies included. All ages welcome, but best for ages 6 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.


Friends Trivia Night
June 15, 6:00 PM

Don't get stuck in second gear! Join us for a FRIENDS TV Show Trivia Night! Bring your team or come solo and compete to win fabulous "Friends" themed prizes at the Pickens County Library. No registration required.


Strollers and Stories
June 16, 10:00 AM

Bring your stroller and kids and meet us at Lee Newton Park. We will do a lap, learn about the library, complete a nature activity, and end with a storytime! Children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required


Family Board Game Night
June 22, 4:00 PM

Starting at 4pm, stop by the Pickens County Library for a night of various board games! Highlights include Settlers of Catan, Monopoly, Apples to Apples, Chutes and Ladders. All ages welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.


Touch-A-Truck
June 23, 10:00 AM

Have you ever wanted to touch a Police Car or a Fire Engine? Starting at 10am through 11am, stop by the Pickens County Library to explore them both! Children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.


Farm Bureau Story Time: Butterflies
June 23, 2:00 PM

Join us at the Pickens County Library on June 23rd for Family Storytime with Miss Hannah and Ms. Rachel! We will have a butterfly theme for our story and craft! Be sure to join us for a fun afternoon. Children must be accompanied by an adult.


Themed Adult Book Club
June 25, 3:00 PM

Meet us at Pendley Brewing Company for Themed Book Club. This month's theme is All Together Now. Ages 21+ encouraged. Stop by Pickens County Library or email moores@seqlib.org for helpful discussion questions and more information. No registration required.


Dungeons and Dragons 5e
June 29, 5:00 PM

Calling all Adventurers! Your campaign awaits. Whether this is your first game or you're a seasoned player, join us at the Pickens County Library for a Summer One Shot! This program is for adults ages 18 and older. Registration is required.
