Not only did Jerry Greer bring his 'Make Appalachia Great Again' wears, but were entertained with his hillbilly percussion.

[ June 05, 2023 ] The first June Farmers Market was a refreshing day with an early cool morning that warmed quickly. Our vendors were smiling as many customers circled the market in search of their favorite goodies, veggies, and/or vendors.

Zach Henson's beautiful white onions were piled high. Green cabbage heads, purple striped garlic bulbs, yellow straightneck squash makes for a colorful sight!

This is a wonderful time for the fresh vegetables as we transition towards Summer this month. Cool season crops like cabbage make way for warm season deliciousness like squash.

Where else can you find summer knitwear, fresh baked bread, and tiny succulents in cute ceramic elephants and zebras?

How about unique cutting boards, aprons, scented soaps, and sorbet? Garden plants, house plants, and veggie seedlings?

All here at the Jasper Farmers Market!

Jennifer Lenoir, Sweet N'Peachy Frills, has baby clothes, little girls dresses and layered aprons.
Seems there are quite a few young entrepreneurs as well, making and selling cookies, bracelets, and more. These youngsters are learning the ins and outs of products, sales, and customer service and hopefully learning financial responsibilities.

Next Saturday, the Master Gardener's tent will be up to offer some gardening advice and homegrown plants. The PCMG's sponsor the Farmers Market which is held at Lee Newton Park in the Park N Ride parking lot across from the Veterans Memorial. It was great to see both parking lots full.

Be sure to stop by next Saturday, 7:30-12, and see what all the fuss is about. You may go home with all the fixings you need for supper, that perfect decor item, a jar of perfectly spicy jelly, and who knows what else?
