Independence Day at Happy Meadows performances on June 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30 and July 1 and 2

[ June 06, 2023 ] The show is about to open on June 16th!

No tears anywhere in this one, only laughs. It's Independence Day at Happy Meadows by Laura King. The show is about a group of four senior citizen women who decide to break out of their nursing home using the Fourth of July celebrations as their cover.

They have to get past a very mean administrator, played by Phyllis Zerkle, who also directs. Phyllis is assisted in directing by September Hoeler.

The delivery guy, Gus, played by Sonny Sellers, is going to become an unwilling accomplice to the "caper". Sonny is new to our stage, but not to the theater.

The four "old ladies" are played by Sherry Stoney, Deb Grecol, Kerry Rosewall, and newcomer Betsy Robie.

I had the privilege of seeing a rehearsal last week, and let me tell you, the one-liners were flying! There's bound to be fireworks... no, really, fireworks.

If you haven't already, go online to www.taterpatchplayers.org and get yours today. The show dates are June 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30 and July 1 and 2. The Sunday shows are 2 PM matinees. The rest are at 7:30 PM.

The theater is located at 95 Philadelphia Lane in Jasper. If there are questions, please email the troupe at taterpatchplayers@gmail.com and leave a contact number and someone will get in touch.

For those of you unable to afford tickets, the Tater Patchers, as always, invite you to watch the final dress rehearsal, June 16 at 7:30 PM. Instead of buying a ticket, please bring bags of non-perishable food or toiletry items that will be donated to CARES. In turn, the cast will share an evening of laughter.

If anyone is interested in volunteering as an usher or refreshment counter helper, please email and put "volunteer" in the subject line. Someone will get back to you, let you know more of what's involved, and find out what date(s) you'd like to help out.
