Qualifying for Jasper, Nelson, and Talking Rock starts tomorrow (August 21-25) from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm) at the Pickens County Board of Elections Office.

JASPER

(A) The office of City Mayor of the City of Jasper, Georgia, which will be elected at large for a term of four (4) years beginning on or about January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2027, and with the incumbent being Steve Lawrence.

(B)The office of City Council member of the City of Jasper, Georgia, being Post 3, which will be elected at large for a term of four (4) years beginning on or about January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2027, with the incumbent being John Foust.

(C)The office of City Councilmember of the City of Jasper, Georgia, being Post 4, which will be elected at large for a term of four (4) years beginning on or about January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2027, with the incumbent being Jim Looney.

(D)The office of City Councilmember of the City of Jasper, Georgia, being Post 5, which will be elected at large for a term of four (4) years beginning on or about January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2027, with the incumbent being Kirk Raffield.

The qualifying fee for the seat of Mayor is $180.00 and for each Council seat shall be $90.00.
