[ October 31, 2023 ] With the cooler temperatures, the big pots are coming out to make chili in kitchens across Pickens County. If chili is one of your specialties, why not share your talents and have a chance to win up to $500 in the Second Annual Tis the Season Chili Cook-Off happening at the Community Thrift Store on December 2nd.

The event will take place in the parking lot of CTS located at 110 Samaritan Drive, from 11-4. Winners will be announced at 3:00 p.m.

Contestants will prepare their secret recipes on site and share tastes with the crowds as well as the judges to determine who will take home the coveted trophies, cash prizes and bragging rights that put others to shame.

Cooking not your thing? No problem! Come see, smell and taste the delicious aromas as the chefs prepare. Unlimited tastes are available for a $5 donation. With your donation, you qualify for entry into our special door prize drawings. No need to be present to win. And... your wrist band gives you a vote with the People's Choice Award... now being $200.

In addition to the chili, free hot dogs and drinks are available to all who come.

Couple the great food with live music, games and free pony rides for the kids and fantastic bargains of Christmas Decor and most importantly... Santa, with toys for kids... it makes for a perfect festival.

All money raised from donations and sponsorships will go to Pickens County Public Library for the purchase of new books.
