OUTDOOR BURN BAN

[ November 17, 2023 ] REVISED 12/2/23:
After looking at the weather forecast the Pickens County Fire Marshals office has decided to move from a total outdoor burn ban to a revised burn ban. We will allow recreational, cooking and warming fires. Large outside burning and commercial burns are not allowed until local officials determine if the rain fall was enough to be able to burn safely. Thank you for your patience as we try to keep everyone safe.

Recreation cooking and warming fires will be allowed, but please take precautions to be in control of these type fires and not allow them to get out of hand.

Due to extreme fire conditions, weather conditions and drought conditions, the Pickens County Fire Marshal's Office is issuing a TOTAL OUTDOOR BURN BAN until December 2, 2023.

This ban applies to "all" outdoor burning to include campfires and warming fires with NO EXCEPTIONS!

We need everyone to understand and be aware that we are in dangerous fire conditions and ask for your help to protect the public.
