[ January 19, 2024 ] Lorrie Waters has been selected as the next City Clerk for Jasper, according to Interim City Manager Kim Goldener.

Ms. Waters, who currently serves as the Human Resources Director for the City of Canton, has over 25 years of municipal experience. She was chosen from a pool of several excellent candidates, all of whom brought great experience and talent to the table.

"We were impressed with Lorrie's many years of experience in municipal work, and we're excited to have her join Team Jasper," said Ms. Goldener.

Lorrie and her husband Robbie live in Jasper, and she is set to begin her new role on Monday, February 5, 2024.

She will be taking over from Tara Benson, who resigned from the position at the end of October 2023 to work with the Pickens Sheriff's Office.
