Looking for a fun way to engage your young learner with educational content? Check out our Playaway Launchpads! Playaway Launchpads are preloaded tablets that provide users with early childhood educational games and apps without the need for internet connectivity.

FRIENDS OF PICKENS COUNTY LIBRARY
The Friends of the Pickens County Library have gently used books available for purchase any time the library is open! The board members of Friends of the Pickens Library stock the shelves and collect the case and check from the black box near the book display. You can also pay using your credit card and the QR code. The Friends of the Pickens County Library bookshelf is located inside the Pickens County Library.

LEGO Lab
February 7, 4:00 PM

Join us for LEGO Lab at Pickens County Library! This is a fun and creative activity for after school. LEGO Creations will be used to help to decorate our library! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Preparing for Wildfires with Firescaping
February 8, 5:00 PM

Come join the Pickens County Master Gardeners at our Pickens County Library for a valuable workshop learning about Firewise Landscaping through Defensible Space. This interactive and hands on session will feature tangible ways to teach homeowners and communities how to reduce their wildfire risk. Research based publications will be available as well as discussion by an active Firefighter. The program will be lead by Master Gardeners who received UGA Advanced Training Certification. Registration is required.

Family Storytime
February 14, 10:30 AM

Family Storytimes are designed for families with children of all ages. This program features stories, singing, dancing, fingerplays, and crafts. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Plants and Paints
February 16, 3:00 PM

Lose the "Winter Blues" & Come join the Pickens County Master Gardeners at our Pickens County Library for an informative and fun session learning about Plants/Gardening and creating your own art!

This month we will be featuring seed starting using seeds that will sprout Blue Flowers in the Spring . Then we will create a beautiful tone on tone painting using shades of blue to clear out those Winter Doldrums. Registration is required as supplies are limited.

Reading Dog Visit
February 19, 4:00 PM

On Monday February 19th, sign your child up to read to our Reading Dog, Baron, for 15 minutes in a stress-free environment to help grow confident reading. Registration is required. Time slots run between 4:00-5:30pm.

Winning the Job: Resume & Interviewing Skills Workshop
February 22, 5:00 PM

Now is the time to spruce up that resume and get the career of your dreams. Join us at the Pickens County Library for a Resume and Interviewing Skills workshop.

BINGO with Friends!
February 23, 10:00 AM

B-I-N-G-O! All are invited to stop by the Pickens County Library for a fabulous game of BINGO! Winners will receive Bookstore Bucks to our Friends of the Library Book Sale!

Dungeons and Dragons 5e

Calling all Adventurers! Your campaign awaits. Whether this is your first game or you're a seasoned player, join us at the Pickens County Library for a One Shot! Dungeons & Dragons players of all ages are welcome but please keep in mind that this program may be too advanced for younger children.
