STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED

[ January 22, 2026 ] Governor Brian Kemp has officially declared a State of Emergency for Georgia as we prepare for a major winter storm arriving late Friday.

Key Details from the Order:
• Timing: A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for North Georgia beginning late Friday, Jan. 23 through Monday, Jan. 26. The State of Emergency remains active until Thursday, Jan. 29.
• The Forecast: We are expecting significant accumulations of snow, ice, freezing rain, and sleet, along with wind gusts up to 30 mph.
• Impacts: Hazardous roads, downed power lines, and fallen trees are likely. 500 National Guard troops have been authorized to assist with response and recovery.

★ Price Gouging: Price gouging on essential goods like gas, propane, and heating fuel is strictly prohibited.
