Pickens County Fire Station 2 (Tate Fire) and Jasper Fire Departments had live burn training at Dawson County's burn tower. Each group, of four or five, went in as a team and worked together to climb ladders and enter the burn house with hose and the tools needed to help put out the fire. Also, they all had to crawl in carrying a hose like they would in a house fire.
Tate Fire manned the Rehab area that was set for them when they came out. Rehab was under a tent and included aqua vest that the fire fighters put on to help cool them down. There was also a misting fan shooting out icy cold water to help with the heat. Pickens County Fire Station 11 sent their air truck to fill the air cylinders during Rehab breaks.
