Adoption Day is every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Pickens Animal Rescue Ranch opened in 2003 to house the overflow of stray animals and now is their adoption center. Every Saturday is Adoption Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and pets are shown at other times by appointment only. Pets are current on vaccinations, Heart Worm prevention, worming and have been spayed/neutered. The adoption fee is $100 for dogs and $75 for cats.
No drop offs are allowed at the ranch and security cameras are set up to aid in prosecuting those who abandon animals, which is considered an act of Animal Cruelty. If you need assistance in placing an animal, please call the rescue line at 706-692-2772. The pets at the ranch are mostly strays and undergo a temperament test to ensure they'll be adoptable before being accepted.
Adopting a pet isn't the only way you can help the ranch. The first Saturday of the month is adult volunteer day and the second Saturday is for families and children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Donations of food, flea and tick treatment, toys, carriers and other pet products are needed. Pickens Animal Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation and all monetary donations are tax deductible.
