ANGELS ON HORSEBACK TACKING UP FOR SPRING SESSION 2013
Professional Association for Therapeutic Horsemanship, International presents Riding Lessons for Individuals with Mental, Physical and Emotional Disabilities in Jasper, Georgia.
We are looking forward to a warm and beautiful spring! Angels on Horseback Opens again with this Sat. Feb. 23 Volunteer Training. New and Old Volunteers are invited to arrive at 9:30 a.m. to fill out Volunteer Applications for 2013. Volunteer Training will be from 10 – 12, with Topics covering Safety, Grooming and Tacking, Lessons. Volunteers are asked to be 14 years of age and wear appropriate clothing and shoes. If you are under 21, you will need to have a parent sign your application.
Lessons will be on Saturdays, 8:00 – 12, and Tuesdays 2:30 – 6:30. Volunteers will have duties such as Grooming, Tacking, Leading, Sidewalking, Feeding, Cleaning Tack, Administrative Work, Property Work, and Barn Work. AOH is a 501c3 program and Volunteers are the mainstay of the work that is done. The camaraderie that comes from working together, is FUN like you have never had. Come out and see what I am talking about!
SPRING SESSION BEGINS – Saturday, March 2nd. Volunteers are asked to be at AOH at 8:00 to help get the horses ready, set-up the arena, and have your questions answered. Lessons will be at 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00. Many of the Volunteers go out for lunch together after lessons on Saturdays.
Tuesday Lessons begin Tuesday, March 5th. Volunteers are asked to come @ 2:30. High School Volunteers usually get dropped off the High School buses @ 3:30. Students arrive before their lessons @ 3:30, 4:30, and 5:30.
This NEW SESSION is going to be very exciting as it will feature Lesson Plans that won National Credit by PATH,Intl. PATH is the Program under which Angels on Horseback operates. They set the Rules and Standards by which the program operates. Also, see our website, angelsonhorseback.org for our photo gallery, volunteer,student,and parent testimonials of their experiences with AOH, and you may print your own Application before you come out on Saturday.
