Meet The Artist with Larry Wilson Winter 2015
1/28/2015 ~ by Pat Jewell
Sunday afternoon at Talking Rock Pottery was the place to be for lovers of art. Larry Wilson showcased his beautiful pottery work and even sold a few of his wonderful pieces. Several members of PACA and the community gathered to meet and greet each other. Tours of the facility were given by PACA board member and owner of the Talking Rock Pottery, Heather Poole. This was made all the more interesting since there was a class in progress that many got to watch while they worked.
Larry told his fans how he came to work with clay. It started with a dream and came full circle when he retired form his work as a public servant. Larry went from hand forming bells to throwing. The purchase of a wheel helped him to create much more elaborate designs. In 2007, Larry opened Hobson Creek Studio, where he creates and his masterpieces. Larry displayed several wildlife pieces and some more personal pieces that told stories of his life.
The gathering was a success and great time for all that attended, the food and beverages were great. If you missed the event, you can visit Larry's web page at www.hobsoncreekstudios.
