Tate Day Photo Contest Winners Announced

The Tate Day 2015 Photo Contest had 16 excellent entries on display in the old Depot. The main criteria was to show the use of marble in Pickens County. Judging was difficult due to the quality of all. After careful observation, consideration, and consultation from those attending Tate Day, the choices were made and are:
1st Place: Leon Edgemon. Black & white study of the bear statue now in place at the Pickens County Library. His artistic composition and dramatic filtered lighting won the $150.00 award.
2nd Place: Donna Lynn Andrews impressive study of the rear porch of the Tate House showcased her keen eye for composition and illustrated the inherent beauty of marble in the Tate House charm. Prize amount is $75.00.
3rd Place: Donna Lynn Andrews again, with a stunning night rendition of the Pickens County Courthouse. Her composition, angle of view, and choice of time to shoot were critical features of this photo. Prize amount is $50.00.
This contest has been encouraged and awards sponsored by the Pickens Arts and Cultural Alliance.
