Pickens County School District Announces New Principal For Harmony Elementary

The Pickens County School District is pleased to announce the promotion of Corey Thompson to Principal of Harmony Elementary School.

Mr. Thompson is a Pickens County native and Pickens High School graduate. He earned a Bachelor's in Education from Kennesaw State College and a Master's of Education Degree from North Georgia College. Mr. Thompson has served the district since 2006 as a teacher at Hill City Elementary and Harmony Elementary and for the last two years as Assistant Principal at Tate Elementary. Mr. Thompson participated in the district’s leadership training program.

“The HES team is excited to have Corey back on our team! He will be a great support to the Harmony community and together they will lift the Eagles to new heights,” stated Lynda Wallace, outgoing Principal.

"The Board and I are extremely pleased to promote Corey Thompson to Principal of Harmony Elementary. We know he will build upon the school's foundation that puts children first and supports a pathway to excellence," stated Dr. Lula Mae Perry, Superintendent.

"As a lifelong resident of Pickens County and a proud Dragon, I am honored to have this opportunity to continue to serve this community and help guide our students' success. I look forward to rejoining the Harmony family and pledge my commitment to provide the best educational experience for our children," stated Corey
Thompson.
