Town of Talking Rock preparing for the 17th Annual Heritage Days Festival October 15 & 16
Vendor application deadline September 1, 2011
The business section of Talking Rock ordinarily is rather quiet, a nice place to browse in the antique shops and general store. However, October 15 ~ 16 begins our two day 17th Annual Heritage Days Festival from 9:00 am ~ 5:00.
The festival will feature other antique vendors from around the state. There will be activities and demonstrations to intrigue the little one. To kick off the festival there will be a parade of Antique cars down Main Street at 11:30; the cars will remain on display for viewing until 3:00 pm.
Take a trip back in time and visit our restored one room Talking Rock Schoolhouse Teaching Museum that was built in 1877 and our Caboose. What is a festival without good old Blue Grass and Southern Gospel Music to enjoy along with great food.
A caravan of railroad motorcars is expected to roll down the tracks and stop around noon on Saturday. Hobbyist from all over the country take part in “riding the rails” in these little restored cars.
The Town Crier will let our visitors know the times of special events during the day. Come join us for some shopping, good food and music and as always admission and parking is free.
