JMA's Community Yard Sale in Memory of Michelle Mackenzie Holm
4/3/2017 ~ by Paul Poore
As the Jasper Merchants Association learns of the loss, of a dear friend; Michelle Mackenzie Holm’s in the early morning hours on Sunday, April 2, 2017. We have come together to honor Michelle who truly inspired many of the residents of not only Pickens County but many of the surrounding counties as well. For the past couple year's one of the biggest supporters of JMA Events and other things that our past Secretary, Paul Poore, was involved in, you would have Michelle more than likely beside him or helping him run the event. Michelle was there with ideas on how to make events better and Michelle was Paul Poore’s partner in crime in bringing to everyone one the newest JMA events, the hugely successful Community Yard Sales. They started this venture to give the people of our community and surrounding locales a safe place to meet at and get to know some of your fellow neighbors.
Michelle Mackenzie Holm was the type of person you could go to and ask her about the many paths in life one can take or just for a little help getting somewhere, or helping you find assistance to get the things you needed for your family. You could ask Michelle for just about anything. She was the female equivalent to the JMA’s Paul’s male. If Michelle didn't know who, what, or where to go, she would call and ask Paul. Michelle was there for not only her family but also for the countless number of residents that not only reside here in Pickens County that always called her friend and insisted she was a part of their family, but the hundreds of others she has meet throughout her life time.
The JMA has decided in honor of and in the memory of Michelle, the plans for this weekend's upcoming JMA Community Yard Sale will continue on this Saturday, April 8th but will start at a later time with the event beginning at 9am and lasting until 3pm to be held in the western side of the Park-n-Ride located at 500 Stegall Drive in Jasper, Georgia, across from Lee Newton Park. This event and so many more to come will not be the same without Michelle and her family; Rebbecah Roberts and Hoyt Self being there with us.
So we are calling this weekend’s event The Jasper Merchants Association Presents In Memory Of Michelle Mackenzie Holm’s Memorial Community Yard Sale. This event is FREE to come and set up any type of items you want to get rid of and make room in the house for your Spring cleaning project. The only items prohibited from onsite sells are any type of firearm or anyone setting up to sell food as we have another event happening at the same time in Lee Newton Park that has vendors of all sorts as well as those selling food items. The event across the street will be the Petsense Presents the BARK in the PARK Jasper event.
Again this Community Yard Sale is OPEN and FREE for anyone that would like to have a safe environment to set up and sell any type of household items and other things you typically would find at a normal Garage or Yard Sale. We hope to have many of you there that knew Michelle and her family and will come out to help us remember her by continuing on with the event she dreamed of and made happen for all of you.
