The Pickens County Chamber of Commerce conducts another new business ribbon cutting ceremony at Sloppy Dogs, LLC located at 1052 E. Church St. in Jasper on July 16, 2019.

“It’s been a long and trying experience to launch a Mobile Food Service Business, but my wife Laura and I are thankful to God, and the untiring support from our community who’ve helped us navigate through the trials and tribulations of getting it up and running.”

Founded in 2018, Sloppy Dogs spent nine months searching for the perfect place which to serve as their Georgia Department of Public Health’s mandated “Base of Operations.” Georgia law requires that all Mobile Food Service businesses have a brick and mortar location for which to serve and support the mobile operation. A Base of Operations cannot be shared kitchens as many believe, therefore the owners Jerry and Laura Daniels spent a great deal of time searching for the perfect place. “Sloppy Dogs has found its home,” says Jerry. They’re still ironing out their operations schedule, but currently they’re open Thursday, Friday and Saturday’s from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm at 1052 E. Church St. Jasper.

Sloppy Dogs is a true Mobile Food Service operation. They are normally open and operating adjacent to their base of operations, but they also can relocate to do special events, fairs, and festivals, as well as catering your private events such as grand openings, customer appreciations, etc. They are a fully licensed, permitted, and an insured mobile food service operation, and both owners are ServSafe Certified. The Sloppy Dogs mobile unit is a beautifully wrapped, all newly constructed modern food service trailer. It is 100% self-sufficient with its onboard electrical, fresh water supply, wastewater tank, refrigerators, steam tables, deli-bar, griddle, char-broiler and stoves. Jerry and Laura designed the Sloppy Dogs logo and an even more impactful “All American” themed trailer wrap, where they both wanted to express their love of America, and to give honor to all those who’ve answered the call to duty and stood the watch!

The owners, Jerry and Laura Daniels, are both US Navy Veterans, and it’s their love of God, country, and our community that motivates them daily. Jerry, a retired Command Master Chief says; “I love hotdogs and have tested and tried them all over American and in foreign countries. To own and operate my own hotdog business has literally been a lifelong dream of mine. I truly love being able to offer the all-American iconic hotdog through our food trailer! Sloppy Dogs serves only 100% all beef hotdogs with all the toppings piled on high, hence the name sloppy, along with delicious bratwurst and sausages! Laura says, “there’s just something about the smell and taste of grilled Italian sausages dripping with hot grilled peppers and onions.” “And… something even better in seeing friends old and new come to our window for a hotdog”

“Being a full-service mobile food operation brings about its own set of unique challenges, one of which is how to establish a solid customer base who knows where we’re located. Therefore, we fully use the advancement and capabilities of social media to the maximum extent possible. Our customers are the key to our success, and it’s our goal to deliver not only great tasting hotdogs and sausages, but to also ensure they know where to find us, thus Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are key to achieving this goal. When we say; follow us, …we mean literally, “follow us” lol! Follow us daily on social media to know where we’re going to be,” explains Laura. “And our website is forthcoming.”
