Jasper Farmers Market Report
8/17/2020 ~ by Heather Giambra
It rained early and got out of the way, so it was a great market. A great variety of goods, veggies, fruits, and crafts. A lot of smiling customers carrying away the treasures. John Penland and daughter, Claudia, had Gala apples this week and they still had juicy delicious peaches as well.
For the thirsty, Miranda Townley brought delicious lemonade. She also had her assistants, Carson and Chloe. Sipping that lemonade made shopping that much sweeter. New vendor, Lila Elizabeth had her embroidered items on display. It takes great stick-to-it patience to do beautiful embroidery work. So come see what she has done!
Ken Brown had tables full of wood work items. The best being the most creative small drawers in wonderful shapes! Each drawer is lined with felt and perfect for holding jewelry, coins, buttons, or any small treasure.
Come see all the wonderful creations that the crafters have made like bird houses and feeders. Come and get the veggies and fruits. Come and get the breads, pies, granola, cakes, pork skins, and meats. Youíll find some plants, as well. And donít forget the wonderfully delicious frozen fruity sorbets from Vivian! You can come just to stroll the market, as well. We look forward to seeing you there!
Only two Wednesdays left in August for our mid-week market at 11 am. And Saturday hours are 7:30-12, located in the park & ride lot next to Lee Newton Park. The market is sponsored by Pickens County Master Gardeners. If you have gardening questions, Jenny, the market manager, can direct you to the Extension office to find some answers.
