Jasper Farmers Market Report
8/2/2022 ~ by Heather Giambra
A cooler morning made for a wonderful shopping experience at the Jasper Farmers Market. Tony Whitfield of Y-Not Sharp did a brisk business keeping things sharp. He can make those scissors slice with ease through paper and packages. And your garden tools will need sharpening to get the work done, so go see Tony at the market to get the edge on your hedge!
Yarn craft, tiny succulents, macrame' plant hangers, garlic braids, pepper jelly, earrings, non-dairy coconut milk based fruit sorbets? What more can you ask for? How about yard art, hanging bird baths, dried mushrooms, dog scarves, peach jelly, and sourdough bread!
Zach Henson's table was full of sweet onions, garlic, zucchini, golden squash, and kale. Your dinner menu awaits at the Farmers Market. With all the breads, jellies, desserts, and veggies available you can really put on the feed bag!
Come on down to Lee Newton Park to the Park N Ride parking lot across from the Veterans Memorial to shop the Jasper Farmers Market which is sponsored by the Pickens County Master Gardeners. Remember there are plant vendors and vendors with plants for your garden and home. The PCMGs will have their plant tent set up the second Saturday of August to sell plants from their gardens, answer gardening questions, and give advice for your best garden!
