Description:Providing a comprehensive overview that will enable the attendee to begin the journey of beekeeping.

- Vocabulary-language of beekeeping
- A year in a bee yard
- Life cycle of the honey bee
- Feeding
- Equipment all about the hive
- Hive evaluation
- Bee biology
- Diseases, pests
- Products of the hive
- Medications
- Make a plan - Extraction
- Installing a package of bees
- Field day reading a frame, smoker
Includes: Coffee & bagels at registration, 1 yr. membership Appalachian Beekeepers Association, lunch with beverage, course binder with all reference material, complimentary copy of Bee Culture magazine, follow-up hands on field day Sunday, Feb.24 (weather dependent).
Bee school registration fee is: $40 per person by Feb. 17; $50 per person after Feb. 17
